Away We Go
I’ve spent the last couple of weeks helping Donna Zaring become familiar with the Flywheel business processes and other transitions. She could not be more qualified to pick up where I left off. She is like me in some ways. She is strategic, loves to be organized, comes up with new ideas, recognizes opportunities, and gets her juice from the energy of entrepreneurs, but Donna is way more cool than I could ever be and does a wonderful job articulating her vision. She has great ideas for Flywheel and I look forward to watching what’s next.
Speaking of next, a few people have been asking what’s next for me? I assure you, I am plenty old enough to be happy never having regular hours and responsibilities again. I plan to put a significant effort into getting competitive at pickleball and spend time traveling to cool places before my aging joints narrow the options. That said, I’ve got some kick left in me and would enjoy taking on a professional challenge or two if they arise.
If Donna and Samuel will have me, I’d like to volunteer coach Flywheel Founders and stay involved with social entrepreneurs. I want to get get more inolved as a community volunteer and I’m open to contract roles. My super power is getting up to speed quickly and seeing connections, so if you or someone you know is looking for someone to lead a short term project, pressure test a plan, put fresh eyes on a problem, or keep balls in the air while flexing into what’s next, I’d love to talk to you. There’s also work for me to do at home. The company my husband started 43 years ago is positioning for life after he and his partner step back. You can’t be a entrepreneur and not address exits so that’s an interesting project and close to my heart.
Most of all, I want to take this last time to thank those of you who took time to love and support the work we do at Flywheel. Whether you are a founder, a board member, an advisor, a coach, a donor or a friend who listened, you made my time at Flywheel rich and rewarding. Thank you for your friendship, your interest, your pearls of wisdom and your time. I’m a better person for knowing you and Flywheel is stronger because you cared.
Sincerely,
Laura Tepe Randall
