Flywheel Social Enterprise Hub Receives Two Foundation Grants

Flywheel Social Enterprise Hub, a startup accelerator for early and mid-stage social enterprise ventures, is grateful to announce it has received grants from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation and the Carol Ann & Ralph V. Haile Jr. Foundation.

The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation is an independent family foundation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Guided by their core values of integrity, boldness, relevance, inclusion, collaboration, and thoughtfulness, the foundation intends to have the greatest impact possible as they, in collaboration with the region’s stakeholders, help lead the way to a strong and vibrant community.

The Foundation's investment will allow Flywheel Social Enterprise Hub to continue to provide technical support and coaching for social enterprises inspired to make our communities more equitable and sustainable through innovation and entrepreneurship.

Greater Cincinnati Foundation is supporting Flywheel's Elevate Equity program. As the region’s leading community foundation, Greater Cincinnati Foundation connects people with purpose in an eight-county region in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. GCF is leading the charge toward a more vibrant Greater Cincinnati for everyone – now, and for generations to come.

Elevate Equity is a series of programming options for early-stage startups focused on supporting founders inspired to address systemic race and gender inequities through entrepreneurship.

Flywheel has equipped 187+ social entrepreneurs with the tools and skills needed to expand their impact. Since 2019, our accelerators have helped launch 29 social enterprises–80% of which are still in operation today. 55% of our founders are women and 41% are BIPOC.  The ventures our founders launch are employing over 100 people.
